# Phani Kambhampati > AI, Data & Digital Transformation Executive and advisor to boards and the C-suite, based in Atlanta, Georgia. Enterprise firsts at Coca-Cola, UPS and EY, among them the first production multi-agent AI at Coca-Cola and the first enterprise Data and AI Strategy at UPS. Former Chief Digital Innovation and Data Officer, EY Americas Assurance. Named to the DataIQ 100 North America 2025 (Data & AI Leaders). Speaker, DataIQ 100 Summit North America 2026. Machine-readable profile: https://phanikambhampati.com/profile.json (schema.org Person) ## What he does Technology is the easy part; the company gets built in the change. - Leadership: leading the enterprise through the change. Enterprise mandates: the strategy, the operating model, the outcomes, and the change management most companies leave out (Chief Data and AI Officer, Chief AI Officer and equivalent seats). - Advisory: counsel to the leaders who own the change. Chief executives and leadership teams: build, buy or partner; what to own outright; how fast governance can move without losing the review. - Boards: oversight of the change, not only the technology. Independent oversight of AI, data and digital transformation, for boards that need to be able to conclude no. - Writing: changing how leaders think about the work. "People, Agents and the Work Between Them", essays on how the organization changes when agents join the team; listed on the site and published on Medium (https://medium.com/@phanikambhampati). - Speaking: teaching it, and building the community around it. Boards, offsites and summits, on what people and agents will do to the organization chart. Speaker, DataIQ 100 Summit North America 2026. He takes board, advisory and executive conversations (see Let's talk). ## The questions boards and the C-suite ask him most, with his short answers On the page each question comes from a seat at the table (chief executive, chief financial officer, chief people officer, audit committee chair, the chair) and the answer goes on the table. - Where is the return, and why do our pilots stall? Pilots stall when nobody owns the data, the decision or the outcome. The return arrives when the business owns all three, under one strategy the C-suite sponsors and an operating model that makes ownership real. - What does this do to the organization and the work? Everything the organization leans on changes: how work is assigned, how it is judged, how people are paid. Roles, decision rights and accountability become the design problem, and it belongs to the leadership team, not the technology function. - What does it cost to run at scale? More than the licence. Tokens, tools, oversight and rework scale with use, not with seats. Give the unit economics an owner and the money moves from infrastructure to capability. - Who is accountable when an agent acts? The institution, always. So every agent gets a named business owner, a defined decision it may take, and a record of what it did. Accountability stays with people, by design, before the first agent goes live. - How do we oversee it without becoming the brake? Oversight has to move at the speed of adoption without giving up the review: risk-tiered, agent-assisted, and a board that can still conclude no. Done well, most reviews take days, not weeks. ## Point of view - The next trillion-dollar company is people and agents. It is being built today: agents will manage people and people will manage agents, and everything the organization leans on changes with it (how work is assigned, how performance is judged, how people are paid, how change is led). - Our value moves from producing the artifact to owning the decision. Roles, decision rights and accountability are the design problem. - Four phases of transformation: Curiosity, Friction, Pattern, Leverage. Most organizations are in Friction; naming the phase tells a leader what to decide next. - Governance has to move at the speed of adoption without giving up the review: risk-based oversight with agent-assisted evaluation. ## Enterprise firsts - Coca-Cola: first production multi-agent AI. - UPS: first enterprise Data and AI Strategy ($500M five-year roadmap with C-suite sponsorship). - EY: first AI Center of Excellence. - EY Technology: first Delivery Center of Excellence. - EY: first major cloud transformation program. ## Results (each on its own initiative and period) - Coca-Cola: enterprise generative AI adoption nearly doubled (monthly active users across the workforce); AI governance review for most use cases from 6-12 weeks to days; agentic AI from concept to production. - UPS: $23M+ in annual logistics savings delivered through AI, analytics and intelligent automation; business ownership of data across eight enterprise domains. - EY: AI and analytics practice scaled from four to 300+ professionals in 18 months; $30M+ in annualized services revenue; in a global EY Technology role, a 10,000-person workforce reshaped around product ownership and annual infrastructure expense from $18M to $5M. ## Career - The Coca-Cola Company, Senior Director, AI and Emerging Technologies, 2024 to present. - UPS, Senior Director, Enterprise Data, AI and Digital Strategy, 2020 to 2024; Senior Director, Technology Transformation, 2019 to 2020. - EY, Chief Digital Innovation and Data Officer, Americas Assurance, 2017 to 2019; Associate Director, Delivery Transformation, 2017 to 2018; Chief Architect, Assurance, 2016 to 2017. - IBM, Lead Solutions Architect and Product Owner, 2008 to 2016. - Education: MS Mechanical Engineering, University of New Orleans; BTech Mechanical Engineering, JNTU Hyderabad. ## Writing (essays, newest first) - Your AI Colleague Has Work for You.
